Children and adolescents with mental health conditions often need support in the classroom. I provide documentation and advocacy for school accommodations including IEPs and 504 plans to help students succeed academically.
IEPs and 504 Plans
An Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 plan ensures that students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations in school. These may include extended test time, preferential seating, modified assignments, breaks during class, or behavioral support plans.
Who Qualifies
Students with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, or other mental health diagnoses that impact their ability to learn or participate in school may qualify for accommodations. A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is the first step.
My Role
I provide thorough clinical documentation that supports accommodation requests, collaborate with parents and school personnel to ensure appropriate supports are in place, and can participate in IEP/504 meetings when needed. My experience working across diverse clinical settings, including extensive work with children and adolescents, informs my understanding of educational needs.
Getting Started
If you believe your child may benefit from school accommodations, schedule an initial evaluation. We'll assess their needs, discuss available options, and create the documentation needed to work with your school.
